Foundation Year

Prep at St Peters

A warm, structured first year of school where children are welcomed into a learning community grounded in care, curiosity and play.

Prep

Where school begins at St Peters

Prep at St Peters is a foundation year designed around how five-year-olds actually learn — through play, story, exploration and gentle structure. Literacy and numeracy are introduced through purposeful experiences, and our specialist teachers in music, languages and sport begin shaping a love of learning that lasts.

Curriculum

Literacy, numeracy and inquiry

The Prep curriculum is built around early literacy and numeracy, science and inquiry, social-emotional development and Christian Studies. Specialist teachers in music, sport and languages contribute weekly to each child's programme.

Pastoral

Settled, supported and known

Each Prep class has a dedicated class teacher who knows every child well, supported by classroom assistants and our Prep Coordinator. Settling-in support, parent communication and pastoral care are central to a successful Prep year.
