Gifted Programme
Stretching exceptional learners
St Peters operates a structured Gifted Programme that identifies and supports exceptionally able students from Year 4 through Year 12. We use research-informed identification, in-class differentiation, dedicated extension classes, and external academic competitions to keep our most able students stretched.

Identification
Research-informed identification of gifted learners
Identification combines standardised assessment, classroom evidence, parent and teacher nomination, and individual interview. The aim is to identify learners across multiple domains — including verbal, mathematical, creative and academic gifts — and to plan personalised stretch.
Programmes
In-class extension plus dedicated programmes
Stretch happens through in-class differentiation, withdrawal extension groups, accelerated subject pathways where appropriate, and external academic competitions and programmes. Our Gifted Coordinator partners with class teachers and families across the journey.
