Year 9 — Five Weeks

Ironbark

Five weeks of outdoor education in the Crow's Nest hinterland. The defining shared experience of every St Peters student.

Ironbark

A defining experience

Every St Peters student in Year 9 spends five weeks at our Ironbark Outdoor Education centre at Crow's Nest, on land owned by the College. Ironbark is a transformative experience — academically, personally and socially — and is one of the defining features of a St Peters education.

Outdoor Education

Hiking, climbing, mountain biking

The Ironbark programme combines outdoor education — hiking, climbing, mountain biking, navigation, expedition planning — with continued academic study, personal challenge and small-group living. Students return to Brisbane more independent, resilient and self-aware.

Pastoral & Leadership

Building character and friendships

Beyond outdoor skills, Ironbark builds the character and friendships that shape the senior years at St Peters. Cohorts return more closely bonded, more confident, and ready for the challenges of senior schooling.
