What Parents Ask Us
Answers to the questions we hear most from families exploring St Peters
We strongly encourage every student to participate in at least one co-curricular activity each semester. Research consistently shows that students who engage beyond the classroom develop stronger social skills, greater resilience, and better academic outcomes. Our programs are designed so every student can find something they love.
Absolutely — and many do. Our timetable is designed to minimise clashes between sport and music commitments. Students regularly compete in AIC or QGSSSA sport while performing in ensembles and taking private lessons. Staff work with families to find the right balance.
Ironbark camps are integrated into the school calendar and planned well in advance. Teachers coordinate so students don't fall behind — and the skills learned at Ironbark (resilience, teamwork, self-management) directly support academic performance. Parents consistently tell us their child returns more focused and confident.
Yes. Our Athletic Development Program offers strength and conditioning, sports science support, and individualised training plans for serious competitors. We also partner with external coaches and state-level programs to support students pursuing elite pathways alongside their studies.
Definitely. Beyond sport and music, we offer robotics, debating, drama, chess, photography, language clubs, Young Entrepreneurs, Duke of Edinburgh, and more. With 50+ co-curricular activities, every student finds their place — and we actively help new students discover what they enjoy.
Co-curricular participation begins from Prep. Primary students access age-appropriate sport, music tuition, choir, and clubs. As students progress, the range of offerings expands — so there's always something new to try and grow into.
